Love this recipe. I grow blueberries and made many batches of these scones. I freeze them and then thaw as needed. Wonderful!

I made the scones and they did not rise nicely and didn’t hold together well once baked . Just using almond flour made the scones very heavy.

Due to a lactose sensitivity, I tried the variation of these scones with green onions and I subbed parmesan cheese for cheddar. They were delicious! I loved them and scarfed two or three of them that same evening. I’m looking forward to trying some other variations, too. Thank you for fun, yummy, healthier treats to make and eat, Kate! I’ve begun needing to be careful about what I eat. I’m very grateful for access to good recipes that don’t cause a sugar spike and that leave me feeling good. Traditional sweets from a store often make me feel sick lately. It’s so fun to play with these options and try new things, too!

I just made the Cheddar cheese and Onion version of these. Had to eat two, as they are sooo yummy. Thank you so much! I intend ti make the blueberry ones tomorrow

Hi Kate. Thank you so much for sharing your delightful recipe. It turned out beautifully. My husband usually spreads butter on it but when he took the first bite, he said it didn’t need any. Your recipe is definitely a keeper. My version was just almond flakes on the top.

In reply to Karyn Barnett. Hi Karyn, when I use regular sugar in a recipe, it means I really think it is essential. You're welcome to experiment with substitutions, but I recommend the recipe as written.
