Thank you so very much for the perfect sweet potato recipe and your techniques!!
I cooked a 3 pound bag and wish I would have had 30 pounds!!
So good you can eat straight out of the oven and do not even need butter(I am the queen of Butter)!!
Shout out to Dupree Farms in NC for the amazing sweet potatoes!!

I have always been confused on the issue to bake a sweet potatoes But I decided to try yours for the end of the season my daughter decided to get my bestie and I steaks to grill before we put it up so I decided to bake Sweet Potatoes for us. I thought my friend and I were so Happy :) that the potatoes turned out so GREAT so because of your way to bake them our end of the season cookout turned out PERFECT

In reply to joey brockert. Oh my goodness! I read that on someone’s recipe recently, so I tried it and did NOT poke holes in them, and one exploded all over my brand new oven! It took me 45 minutes to get everything clean! Needless to say, I will always poke holes in them from now on!

Yams are all over the U.S. Seems to me that sweet potatoes are fat and rounder and yams are long & skinnier, at least that’s how I differentiate. Not that it matters, the taste is the same.

I’m a little confused. I’m to put my pierced sweet potatoes on the top rack. Then on the next rack put the parchment lined rimmed baking sheet.
But NOT on the bottom “rack”
Did you mean bottom of oven?
Because my bottom rack is my second or middle rack lol.
How big is your oven? Maybe I am using a small 2 rack model?
