I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made this salsa. It really is the “Best Red Salsa” and is so much better than your favorite store bought fresh salsa!!! I usually use Kirkland organic diced tomatoes and a serrano pepper because we like it spicy. Love all your recipes Kate!

In reply to Sara. Hi Sara, this recipe is for a cann of diced, fire-roasted tomatoes, but you could substitute for an equal amount of fresh tomatoes if you want a fresh salsa. I prefer pico de gallo with my fresh tomatoes.

In reply to Barb. Hi Barb, I would chop an equal amount of roma tomatoes. You can half and grill them to get the fire roasted flavor.
