These are terrific and substantial veggie burger patties ! I did add chopped roasted beets as I had a bunch in my CSA bag and roasted them along with the sweet potatoes. I made 8 patties and baked them on a cookie sheet. I froze the remaining patties to heat up later. Thanks for the great recipe.

I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. During that time I have bought and made more types of veggie burgers than I can count.
Last month I decided to try this recipe. Wow! This is the best veggie burger every and I am making another batch tomorrow for the freezer.

Kate, this is delicious! Finally, a veggie burger that tastes great and does not fall apart! Came together very easily — I used a microwave packet of quinoa from Whole Foods that was the perfect amount. Froze the leftover burgers and they are as good as the first one. Great recipe!

I made using the original and then made again, adding mushrooms and about 4T of tomato sauce. I should have made thicker patties the second time as the mushrooms cooked down in the oven. Both versions were tasty!
I plan to keep experimenting to pivot into a veggie loaf.

Despite my not having made burgers from scratch before, these burgers were forgiving of that and turned out great. I used the oven-baking method, and we ate the burgers with avocado, onions, and sriracha mayo on sliced sourdough bread.

16 oz (or 1 lb) roughly equivalent to 1 3/4 to 2 cups of pictsweet mashed sweet potato was in the bag. Unfortunately I can no longer find that bag but I would use the whole bag.
