Generally speaking rinsing rice is to remove some pesticides. People from India rinse it twice.

Lately, I’ve had the worst luck with brown rice. I’ve used a rice cooker, pressure cooker, a covered pot on the stovetop, and a covered skillet on the stovetop… all were either undercooked and still hard, overcooked and burnt (skillet), or gross and just not fluffy. So, I tried your method and I had great results! Perfectly cooked and fluffy! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to use brown rice more, but following package directions, etc. have never ended up with nothing but a hard gross rice. (I DID, HOWEVER) , notice water on the bottom of my pot when the “standard” cooking time was over. So, it’s obvious you can’t cook this like any type of white rice. I do know how to cook. I’ve been making rice for many years. But my brown rice ALWAYS came at horrible.
