With all the available varietals of tomatoes out there (Gourmet, Roma, and Truss come most immediately to mind) would anyone care to suggest which work best with this soup recipe?

Done! Yummy and easy recipe for our home grown tomatoes, it’s delicious. I added basil and roasted the garlic peeled (not intentional) which worked fine. We might change it up as we eat this for the next meal and add cream. Healthy and delicious!

Love the recipe although have some trouble equating 9 tomatoes with 5lb (here in the UK five large plum tomatoes = 2lb or about 900g). Should I go with 5lb?

Super easy to prep! I love that it’s dairy free. I might try adding silken tofu next time for a protein boost and make it more creamy.

This soup is delicious! I followed the instructions, but I have 4 cups of soup. I used 4 cups of vegetable broth, 10 medium sized tomatoes (like a large roma tomato), and 9 slimmer sweet red peppers (same length as a normal bell pepper, just slimmer), but it just seems like I missed something… Maybe I took out too much when I cored the tomatoes? Anyway, it tastes amazing, and that’s the most important part.

I just finished blending the ingredients. This soup is awesome. One thing I added for a little sweetness was T garlic honey. My good friend has bees and he shares the honey with me each year.

I haven’t made any of the recipes so far, but I’m anxious to try them I expecially that they are gluten free as I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. It’s been a challenge but recipes like these help in the transition. Thanks.
