Excellent cake recipe! In my life I haven’t made very many tasty cakes from scratch, and this is number 2 for me. Very good. It took me time to make everything, but it isn’t hard. I had most of the ingredients on hand too! I think I overcooked the strawberries, but the almond cake is so good, it doesn’t matter.

In reply to Ruchama Burrell. Hi Ruchama, I include vegan options when I think they will work well as substitutions, but with 4 eggs they are so essential to the recipe, I don't think this can be recreated as a vegan recipe.

This cake is so moist and delicious, I love the orange zest which gives it such a special flavor. I thought this would be nice to serve for my gluten intolerance friends, but it is definitely a cake to serve for my family anytime

I wouldn’t use roasted fruit in my almond cake, rather only fresh will do. I like the idea of adding orange flavor…fresh!
