I love this recipe, thank you! I’ve started using your topping recipe for every crisp I make. I just tried an experiment with a variation on the fruit - I subbed 1 lb. chopped ripe bananas for the strawberries, and cut the honey down to 1/4 cup since the bananas add a lot of sweetness. Used orange juice instead of lemon juice. It was very tasty!

I made this crisp this morning and it's delicious. I didn't use yogurt but added some extra butter as suggested.
I made it tonight. Love the tart yet sweet taste! I should have cooked a bit longer to make the topping more crisp, but it was golden brown, so I thought it was done. Will make again! Thank you for making a delicious yet healthy desert that is within my dietary restrictions!

I made the rhubarb-strawberry crisp a few weeks ago. In fact, I received many complements from people eating it at the church potluck and one for my husband . I doubled the recipe for the big crowd. My husband has been begging me to make another one for him and I will today. I also plan to make the vegetable lasagna today. We are retired. We just downsized our cramped pantry of many items. It was a big job and now I know exactly what there.
Thank you for your wonderful recipes. I tell everyone about your site.

Hi Kaitlyn, avocado oil has a more neutral flavor, olive oils can be more flavorful depending on processing or variety. I haven't tested to see how it crisps up with either.

Hi Kristen, you can double and make it with only rhubarb if you would like, but you may want to increase the honey, since rhubarb is more tart that strawberries.

Hi Kate. I have rhubarb but no strawberries. Should I double rhubarb to two pounds? Would I need to adjust amount of honey?
I have made the healthy blueberry muffins and banana muffins several times!
I so appreciate your posts and recipes.
Thank you.
