Ha! Same here — it also took me awhile to figure it out. My carnivorous husband would never imagine he’s enjoying a meal from a mostly vegetarian/vegan site. I have 2 Cookie & Kate cookbooks and still rely on this great website.

What has been especially helpful to me is that I can trust these recipes; I’m not afraid to make a first effort with guests.

The recipes often have make ahead suggestions. And when a recipe says the prepped ingredients will hold up for x days, I have found that to be accurate. So when we hosting guests for a fews days, I rely on Kate’s recipes which I know will be tasty, can be modified easily to most diet restrictions and that I can prep in a few days ahead of time.

Especially agree about the chana masala…I cook and dice up a couple of chicken breasts and add that to the mixture for the final cooking step…it’s a wonderful, hearty, healthy meal for my wife and me!

Hello Kate it as been a while Spence I reached out to you. Soy girl as been following you for such a long time. I reached out to you after she died of Covid in 21. So here am need to get into cooking for myself and platting my dinner instead of eating has I go. I have followed Cheryl’s cooking she was so good but I want to branch out and cook for one, I have decided to go solo instead of getting into a relationship. If it’s meant to be so be it but I’m not fishing. I am going to start with your cook book hopefully get you to sign it. I want to start over with new pans, what ever stock I need herbs etc on hand.
